The Connecticut Referee Camp began
in July 2000 through the collaboration of CJSA and the Connecticut
Referee Development Program. The Referee Camp has been gaining more
and more momentum throughout the years.
Both the Basic and
Intermediate CT Referee Camps have similar formats. The camps are
a full-time, residential camp that focus on game control techniques
with opportunities to Referee high-level games. Participants are
engaged in classroom and field training sessions that cover all
aspects of the Laws of the Game, their application and use in various
settings. The camp provides a professional learning environment
in a fun and exciting way. Many camp attendees have returned as
campers, as well as mentors, to share their experiences with “newcomers”.
The Basic
Camp is designed for newer, entry-level Referees (Grade
8) who are serious about growing as Referees. Participants must
have been certified as a Grade 8 Referee for at least one full calendar
year by July. Campers will work with Mentors, Instructors, and Assessors
in a cohesive, supportive environment, without stress of parents
and coaches, to enhance their learning experience.
The Intermediate
Referee Camp is intended for Referees who have worked a
minimum of 25 games as the Referee and 50 games as an assistant
Referee. This camp is strongly recommended for Referees who are
currently in the upgrade process to Grade 7, as well.
The
2009 Intermediate Referee Camp will be held in conjunction
with the Girls' Region I ODP Camp at the University of Rhode Island
in Kingston, RI. and will start 1:00 pm, Monday, July 13, 2009 and
run through noon on Friday, July 17, 2009.

the Girls' Region I ODP Camp at the University of Rhode Island in
Kingston, RI. and will start 1:00 pm, Monday, July 20, 2009 and
