1.
Q. Who must recertify?
A. Every Connecticut referee registered
with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) must recertify every
year, regardless of grade. You are required to attend a clinic in
order to receive your recertification. The specific requirements
for grade maintenance are spelled out in the "Annual Renewal
Requirements” section of the Referee Administrative Handbook.
2. Q. Where can I recertify?
A. Beginning in September of each
year and running through the end of January the CSRP schedules recertification
clinics held at various locations across the state. An attempt is
made to minimize the distance traveled by all referees in Connecticut
in meeting their in-service training requirement. You must register
on line to attend a clinic. Click here to go to the eReferee
Registration System...
3. Q. What should I bring to
the clinic?
A. Referees should bring: a notebook
and pen or pencil for taking notes during the clinic. The printed
confirmation from the CSRP eReferee web page once the registration
for a clinic has been completed.
4. Q. What if I have not received
my re-certification materials from the USSF?
A. You do not need those materials
in order to attend a clinic
5. Q. Do I
have to attend the clinic in my area?
A. No. You may
attend any re-certification clinics.
6. Q. Can I just drop off the
form or have a friend bring it for me?
A. No. You must be there in person.
The purpose of the clinic is to update you on law changes and provide
advanced instruction appropriate to your level of experience. The
duration of class is up to 3 hours. Late arrival or early departure
from the clinic is grounds for not being re-certified, according
to the Referee Administrative Handbook. There is also a refresher
exam administered at each site.
7. Q. What are the passing
scores?
A. To complete
the recertification the REFEREES MUST PASS the recertification test.
GRADE 8 REFEREES must get at least
75% of the answers correct on the ENTRY LEVEL written test.
GRADE 7 REFEREES must get at least 85% of the answers correct on

THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE you may bring someone to read the test to you,
not help you with the answers.
